The authorised verifier scheme is a voluntary scheme that allows qualified private sector companies, such as, manufacturers, repairers, and installers of weighing and/or measuring instruments to be designated as authorised verifiers (AVs).
To safeguard the interests of consumers and businesses, weighing and measuring instruments used for trade are required to undergo periodic verification and affixed with the accuracy label if it is found to function within MPE. The accuracy label is valid for 12 months. Past its validity, a re-verification of the weighing or measuring instrument is required to renew the Label.
Should the instrument pass the verification and be deemed fit for trade use, AVs are to affix the accuracy label right beside the QR code label or, in a position on the instrument easily seen by consumers. Below is the sample photo of the accuracy Label and QR code.
